5 Free Ways to Get Your Business Noticed Online

Ken Davidson http://www.needfor4gspeed.com
There are so many ways to get your business noticed online today but these five are my favorites to share.  Some are the obvious and some are not so much.

5.  Google Places-the most important listing you can have.  If your customers cannot find you, they cannot come to your store or website.  If you have a brick and mortar location, take advantage of that local and mobile (Think Android) traffic.  Also, consider using all other Google services for more exposure.  For instance, this article will be published on Blogger.com because that is Google’s blog site.  If you have a Verizon business telephone line, you have Google Apps premium for business for free.

4.  Bing.  Bing is probably one of the most overlooked search engines to submit to.  Bing is used in many mobile directories as well as a lot of mapsites.  As Windows Phones become more popular, Bing will become more popular. Other directories also use Bing as a database just as they do Google.

3.  DMOZ.org  This is old school, back in the day, this was the place where all the search engines got their information.  I still recommend posting your site here.  Not sure if it helps the way it used to, but its free and does not take long.

2.  YP.com, Superpages.com, 411.com  Check your listing and make sure it is correct.  Just today I noticed a restaurant in my neighborhood with an outdated listing on all of these sites.  A good phone company or agent should take care of this for you but you still need to check it.

1.  American Express Yourbuzz. (discontinued, unfortunately)  I cannot stress enough how important this site is.  Your buzz provides a control panel to see how you are doing on each major search engine. It is free even if you are not a cardmember.  It points the most minor discrepancies.  I did not notice that some of my listings were Tampa, FL and others were Tampa, Florida until Yourbuzz pointed it out.  There are also invaluable tips, blogs and other useful tools here.

There are many, many more tools which I recommend.  I chose these 5 because, if you do not have the time to do anything else, take two hours one day and utilize these resources.  Feel free to email me at ken.1704@gmail.com with any questions.  I look forward to your feedback!

The Ideal Way to Mix it Up

Brian Whittington, CEO of Ideal Solutions Provider Business Telephone and Internet wanted to ring in the new year in style while thanking those who worked with us in 2011.  What better way to Mix it Up than to invite our staff, some Verizon employees, and our business partners to Martini Lounge at International Plaza in Tampa?  Garry Hopkins, CEO of National Comnet Services even flew in from Virginia Beach to join the fun.
Brian Whittington explained, “we are so excited about the prospects for 2012 that we wanted to create some buzz.  We have some new business partners that we wanted to introduce to our staff and other key allies. We have some existing business partners that we wanted to thank for being there in 2011 and assure that we are moving forward in a strong manner.  We hope to do this again in the near future.
